 Fight Like Apes -You Filled His Head With Fluffy Clouds and Jolly Ranchers, So What Did You Think Was Going to Happen? 9 March 2009 Review by Rachel Coppenhaver Model Citizen  Ireland's in-your-face band, Fight Like Apes, released an EP with songs from the records already out in the UK - Fight Like Apes and the Mystery of the Golden Medallion, How Am I Supposed to Kill You If You Have All the Guns, and David Carradine is a Bounty Hunter Who's Robotic Arm Hates Your Crotch. Yes, the band is a fan of long album titles and no, I'm sure sure they don't care what you think about it. Front-woman MayKay's vocals are unusual and often times sound like screeching, but for the most part, not in an annoying way. In fact, the brashness of the music seems to simultaneously repel you and draw you in for more. With clever, irreverant lyrics, they are sure to gather a following in the US soon, especially after making appearances at SXSW. The best song on the five-song EP is "Lend Me Your Face", a violent lament to a 'stupid boy'. The chorus is repetative yet catchy and the beat stays with you. I wish the song "Tie Me Up With Jackets" was included on the EP, but you can hear it on the band's MySpace as well as many of the other great tracks not yet available on disk in the States.
